Royal Palm Gives Event
So excited to announce our 3rd Royal Palm Gives event! While you’re spring cleaning, keep our charities in mind. Then drive your donations over to our drop off site. It’s easy and so appreciated!
We will be in the parking lot of Open Door Fellowship. Please ENTER OFF BUTLER just east of 19th Avenue. Follow the signs. Drop off donations at cars/trucks parked to collect your in-kind contributions. The event will be held from 1-3pm on Saturday, January 29, 2022.
Donation requests:
Non-perishable food to support Open Door’s food pantry. Our thank you to them for letting us use their property. They request: non-perishable food items that have not expired. They especially need cereal, soups, peanut butter, canned ravioli, chili but also can always use canned veggies, spaghetti sauce and pasta, rice.
Old eyeglasses, hearing aids, and hearing aid batteries. Any style, any condition, working or not, accepted on behalf of the Lion’s Club.
Animal rescue resources: - New/lightly used sheets, blankets, comforters, and towels - Powder free and/or Latex free gloves sizes Med—XL - Disposable gowns or gently used scrubs or art smocks - New/lightly used dog toys - Cat toys (with or without catnip) - Poop bags - Puppy pads - New or lightly used collars, harnesses, and leashes - Scoopable cat litter - Small/medium pet beds (large ones tend to get shredded, so only smaller sizes) - Medium airline pet carriers - Folding chairs - Febreeze small spaces clean linen, Glade refills with Febreeze, and Tide liquid - All benefit HALO Animal Rescue that rescues homeless dogs and cats.
Goodwill will be there to take all other donations as long as they are in good, clean, sellable condition. They do not repair, refinish or reupholster. Further, your donations must fit inside a bin 3.5 x 3.5 feet in dimension. (We had some very oversize items last time – just drive those to a donation center please.)
Goodwill gladly accepts: small appliances, books, clothing, accessories, electronics (working), small furniture, handbags, housewares, jewelry, knick-knacks, linens, musical instruments, pictures, shoes, sporting goods, tools, and toys.
Goodwill No-thank-you list: auto parts, tires, baby furniture, building materials, cleaning products, flammable products, hazardous materials, large appliances, large exercise equipment, large furniture, lawn and garden products, liquids/hygiene products, mattresses/box springs, paint, piano/organs, pool tables, sofa beds, TVs older than 5 years. Some of these no-thank-yous can be accepted at donation centers, so call to confirm. They just won’t fit on the on-site truck!
Goodwill pays Royal Palm Neighborhood by the pound for donations collected. Your donations benefit us all directly!
